Jumpin' Through Hoops!

I am starting this blog really for myself to look back on this journey through Nursing (RN) School. At this point, it seems I am having to jump through hoops, without making much progress. However, I am determined. There WILL come a day when I will look back at this and wonder how I got to the end...only through God. I will remember and know that!
Some new changes that the school has made: you still have to have your CNA in order to get into the program, BUT you can no longer "challenge" the exam like I just did. You have to actually go in and take the course. And I have been informed that there are NO exceptions. AND the CNA II course will not satisfy this requirement?! So, I have to actually go in and sign up for the CNA 1 course, take it and get the certificate that says I took the course, but I do not need to take the test again! LOL
One more change they are making is that you have to have taken your A and P 1 and 2 less than 5 years ago, or you need to repeat them- this requirement starts in Fall of 2012, so I have a tiny bit of time to worry about that one! I was also told I should apply at several schools, however, each school has different requirements, so meeting them all might take as long as getting in to one of the schools. UGH! And you know we have Nursing shortages everywhere!
Maybe I should also tell you that I am 41, married 18 years, and have 3 teenagers whom I homeschool. I also have no financial aid, so I pay out of pocket. I will now be working prn as a CNA, homeschooling, taking the CNA 1 course, getting the CNA 2 course, and finishing my pre-requisites over the next year. I NEED to hurry and finish so my children can go to college! LOL One of them graduates next year. Which might open a whole new set of circumstances and hoops. We'll see....
I say all of this with the realization that God is directing my path, and I know that He has a plan for me. I am frustrated, but need to stop, look at each hoop, do my best to be prepared, follow through, and trust that He has it all under control. More to come later...off to study a bit...
I know the best is yet to come!
